King's College Hospital was founded in 1840 and has gone from strength to strength, becoming a teaching hospital in 1948 and a member of the NHS Foundation Trust in 2006. It has been rated ""Excellent"" for use of resources and hospital quality by the Care Quality Commission.
It is comprised of 5 centers of excellence specializing in cardiac disease, neurosciences, hematology, and liver disease and transplantation.
The hospital has a dedicated International Patient Centre (IPC), that assists international visitors with everything from visa and accommodation booking and transport, as well as interpretation and translator services. The hospital has treated patients from over 50 countries, and provides highly specialized treatment with over 100 consultants.
