The ABC Medical Center ( The American British Cowdray Medical Center ), also known under the name of ABC Hospital is a hospital and private assistance institution located in Mexico City , and has two campuses: one in Santa Fe and other in Observatory . The ABC Medical Center is affiliated with The Methodist Hospital , and this affiliation is integrated into a global network of hospitals, and is the first in Latin America.

The ABC Medical Center is the only private health institution in Mexico City who has obtained accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI) at the same time for both campuses, and also has certification of its Quality System according the standard ISO-9001-2000 . It is also endorsed by The College of American Pathologists.

On December 12, 1886 the American Hospital is inaugurated in Street Gabino Barreda, in the San Rafael in Mexico City . In 1926, it opens its doors Cowdray Sanatorium in Street Mariano Escobedo, who eventually known then as "English Hospital". Later in 1941, the American Hospital and Sanitarium Cowdray join forces to give birth to The American British Cowdray Hospital, IAP, governed from that date by a Board whose members support the institution altruistically.

In 1952 the Medical Association of ABC Medical Center, was created in response to the need for specialized medical advice.

In 1953 the Group Volunteer Ladies, made up of more than 120 associates who selflessly support different areas of the institution is created. In 1964 the new facilities are inaugurated ABC Medical Center in Av. Observatory, and in 1987 begins operations Brimex ABC Charity Clinic "Dr. Isaac Blank Lavsky ", also located in the Campus Observatory.

In 2004 the ABC Santa Fe, a hospital unit that complements the services provided by the Observatory Campus Medical Center opens.

In 2006 Starts Charity Clinic activities ABC Friendship Campus Santa Fe and the ABC Medical Center signed an affiliation agreement with Methodist International of Houston, Texas, for the purpose of matching services that are currently awarded with international standards.

In 2008 the Center for Gynecology and obstetrics Pediatrics ABC opens at the Campus Santa Fe to continue providing the most advanced medical services in an atmosphere of comfort security and tranquility for women and children. The ABC Medical Center receives Accreditation granted by International Joint Commission in its Campus Observatory and Santa Fe.

In 2009 inaugurates ABC Cancer Center at the Campus Observatory to provide comprehensive treatment services to people suffering from this terrible disease. The ABC Medical Center is the first and only medical center in the country certified under the criteria approved General Health Council (CSG) and JCI on its two campuses.
