About Jordan University Hospital

We are the first university teaching hospital in Jordan, and one of the first university teaching hospitals at the level of the Arab World.

Jordan University Hospital has obtained a number of international accreditation certificates as following:

- The Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) with excellence for three years.

- Joint Commission International (JCI).

- ISO 9001 Certificate.

- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Certificate.

- HCAC National Quality & Safety Goals.

JUH mission is providing the highest quality of safe medical services of general and highly specialized nature; as well as providing different teaching and training programs including postgraduate educational programs, developing and promoting scientific research and contributing to the prevention of diseases.

Our Vision

JUH vision is to be a reference center for developing and providing educational programs, professional trainings, scientific research, and medical and preventive health care services for the local community, leading other health care institutions in Jordan and the region.

JUH Establishment and Strategic Goals

The Royal decree was issued on January 1st, 1971 to establish Amman Great Hospital, annexed to the University of Jordan in 1975 under the Royal decree to become the Jordan University Hospital.

JUH main goals can be summarized in providing health care services of general and specialized nature, offering different teaching and training programs in the different medical fields, developing and promoting scientific research, and providing specialized training opportunities for medical students and other support medical professions.

Jordan University Hospital has a bed capacity of 550 which can be increased to 600 beds. (68) Beds are distributed on (8) specialized intensive care units and (24) surgical operation theatres. As Jordan University Hospital has (64) specialty and subspecialty, it annually serves more than (500.000) patients in the outpatients clinics, carries out (25,000) surgical operations, and receives (94,000) Emergency cases in the ER.

Jordan university hospital’s team consists of (2,600) employees, (225) of them are a highly qualified full-time consultants in different medical specialties certified from the United States, Canada, Australia, and some of the west European Union countries, (250) residents and (125) interns who are getting their medical training in different medical specialties, (64) pharmacists, and other technical and administrative staff.
