St. Philomena's Hospital was estabished in Bangalore in 1937 by a samll group of J.M.J sister headed by Dr. Sr. Mary Veronica Pitt, an Australian Qualified Gynecologist who joined the congregation of JMJ society. The Society of Jesus Mary and Joseph was founded in Holland in 1822. The Bangalore center was started in a very poor locality of the city as a Health centre which should grew up to present 450 beded multispeciality state of art modern hospital, over 70 years. It is located in the prestigious central business district of Bangalore close to M. G. Road, Garuda Mall & Life style.

St. Philomena's Hospital today is multispeciality center with modern facilities and fast growing up to be a Post Graduate medical training center fulfilling the requirements for Accreditation by the Royal College of OBG in Uk and Diplomate of the National Board, New Delhi in India.
