Potassium supplementation - Oral/IV 0.5-1 mmol/ kg 2 times daily or 0.5-1 mEq/kg 2 times daily. Acute hypokalemia - 0.08-0.2 mmol/kg/hr or mEq/kg/hr. Check dose carefully as overdose could be fatal. Recheck potassium levels after 3 hr. 1gm KCI = 13.4mmol or 13.4 mEq.
